Jesus Died for Our Sins and He Rose Again on the Third Day

IMG_3881

We just come from Good Friday and Easter Sunday. We are reminded of the fact that Jesus Christ died on our behalf and for our sins. Although we are desperately wayward always tending away from God there is hope for us. As we move away from what God has created us for, we get ourselves and others in so many troubles that were nonexistent in Paradise.

Jesus died for our sins. In doing so he encourages us to trust in God’s love and grace. God is opening up a new way for us. He is seeking to restore us into a faithful relationship with him and unto the purposes we are made for.

Yet Christ did not remain dead. He rose for our good. Our salvation would not have been complete if Jesus had remained dead. This would have merely taught us that our sin was very grave.

Jesus rose from the dead. Our saviour is alive and willing to help us and teach us along the way that has been opened up to us.

He was able to carry the load of our wrongs. He himself was sinless and therefore death could not keep him. That is the reason why anybody who believes in Jesus can enjoy full and complete salvation.

It is very important for us to remember these central facts of the Christian faith. We are saved by grace alone.

We might get proud about many things even as we contribute to some Christian ministry. Yet our efforts will more likely be blessed by God as we recall what Jesus Christ has done for us.

We may forget about guilty fears and impending divine punishments. God’s forgiveness is real.

On the other hand we ought to remind ourselves of the very fact that God did freely forgive us. Recalling how much we have needed that forgiveness helps us to grow in humility and in Christian love.
